This captivating photograph captures the climactic moment of our journey as we approach the final gully leading to the awe-inspiring Whiteman Falls and the challenging Redman Soars climbing routes. To the left, the striking, massive piece of ice represents the formidable second pitch of Whiteman Falls (WI5-6), which commands respect and awe with its imposing presence. Straight ahead, a courageous climber walks towards the evident arete, embarking on the adventure that is Redman Soars (M5).I had the incredible opportunity to join this expedition, following the experienced guide's lead. As we ascended, I couldn't help but notice the thunderous spectacle of massive ice chunks hurtling down the gully, exactly where the climber in this photo is currently positioned. It was a stark reminder of the inherent dangers and unpredictable nature of ice climbing. Despite the risks, the allure of these magnificent routes beckoned us forward.In the end, my role was not that of the leader, but rather an enthusiastic follower. I pursued the climber on the Redman Soars route, adding my own experiences and memories to the shared adventure.
