Living at the upper reaches of the Salt Lake Valley, I'm fortunate to be in close proximity to the rugged beauty of the mountains. In the winter, as the snow blankets the landscape, it becomes a vital refuge for the local deer population who migrate down to the valley in search of sustenance. This photograph captures a remarkable encounter with three deer, their inquisitive eyes fixed upon me in the tranquil snowy forest. To get this shot, I embarked on a two-hour hike above my house, navigating the pristine wilderness. After patiently tracking the deer for an additional hour, I was able to capture this image.
