A Resting Soul in the Philippines

Phillippines
Spring 2023

In the midst of my street photography explorations in the Philippines, I stumbled upon a scene that spoke volumes about the harsh realities faced by some in this beautiful nation. This evocative photograph captures a poignant moment: a homeless person, caught in the vulnerable embrace of slumber, their makeshift bed in the heart of the streets.

The image is a stark reminder of the stark disparities that exist in our world, even in the most idyllic of settings. As the warm sun casts its gentle glow on the figure, it contrasts with the shadows that cloud their existence. The homeless individual, in their state of rest, is a powerful symbol of human resilience and the silent struggles that often go unnoticed.
